Our daily dash to our workspaces in the morning begins with a similar mental rush of tasks that lie ahead of us. All through our run to the desks we make mental notes of our game plan for the day! No matter how well planned; there will be re-prioritizing of tasks, meetings, interruptions by the Team Lead or Manager or even by you. When you prioritize your activities for the day, your chances of performing at optimum levels increase; paving your way to be efficient and reliable. It also helps you limit unwanted distractions and saves you time. Here in my second chapter, I will help you to set or know the priority of your tasks in Orangescrum. And trust me, you are never without one ? You can see all your tasks in the Task List page by selecting “All” in the Project dropdown on the top bar. If you want to view tasks for a particular project, then you can do so by selecting that project from the Project dropdown menu. Now you have tasks in your hand; all you need is to track and get going with the important and urgent ones first. Finding Priority You can define task priority while task creation itself. If not, Orangescrum auto assigns “Low” priority to the tasks by default. Once priority is defined, you can easily find the task priority in the Task List page for all your tasks as per your project selection. Define Priority As I said; sometimes you or your team may forget to define task priority. So you need to prioritize tasks as per the importance, urgency and/or project needs. Also you may need to discuss with your team, project manager before assigning a priority to minimize disruptions to other tasks. Order your Tasks Now order your tasks as per the defined priority, urgency & importance of your project. You may need to do the clients work/issues first compared to your own in-house or non-delivery tasks for that day. You can filter out your tasks & save the filter as per your priority. Always try to start the task that require maximum effort and time. (Kill the elephant first!) So you will give your best to finish the task in time. That will increase your productivity as per many experts. Still this varies from resource to resource. In most cases, due to change of priorities by the client or boss, you may be required to change your plan. So your whole task priority will change accordingly. But still having well defined priorities and clarity helps maintain the required focus and push. In the end we all go home Happy! Signup NowDownload Now!
