Orangescrum is Now Open Source!

Today we’re thrilled to announce that Orangescrum goes opens source.

We took this initiative in order to build an even stronger foundation for community-powered innovation. The Community edition of Orangescrum is released under the GNU General Public License Version 3 and runs on CakePHP 2.x.

When we say ‘Open Source’, it is FREE to download and install. In addition, there will not be any charges going forward be it up gradation or new releases.
The download includes the Installation Guide which tells you how to set Orangescrum up and running in your server.

OpenSource

Why Opensource?

All your below concerns are addressed when you get ‘Orangescrum Opensource’.

Security

Orangescrum is absolutely yours. You own the code as well as the database. You do not have to worry about storing your precious data outside your premises.

Quality & Customizability

There are countless developers to contribute to Open Source projects, so there will be more innovation, new features and enhancements. Since the Orangescrum code is open, it’s simply a matter of modifying it to add the functionality you want, which cannot be done with any proprietary software!

Support Options

We also have a small but growing community that is pretty active. You can join us on Google Group. You can ask for help and share your ideas. There will be 1000s of listeners and you can get your answer promptly.

We are going to introduce a paid support system very soon. We will do the installation for you in your premises and hand-hold you the uses of Orangescrum. But the price will be far below than what most proprietary vendors are charging for support.

Fork the project from GitHub if you are interested in contributing, or you can simply watch its progress.
