Admins rely on Resource Utilization reports to track the exact time each team member spends on projects. Previously, while Orangescrum displayed time in hours and minutes in the app (e.g., 2 hrs 45 mins), exported reports automatically converted the time into decimal format (e.g., 2.75 hrs).
This caused frustration: admins had to manually convert decimal hours back into hours and minutes to understand the actual time spent, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.

Although mathematically correct, this created confusion for managers who preferred to see time in hours and minutes, especially when tracking productivity or reporting to clients.
Orangescrum now provides two export options for Resource Utilization reports:
Calculation in hrs and mins:
| User Name | Project A | Project B | Project C |
| Alice Johnson | 12hrs 30min | 8 hrs 15 mins | 6 hrs 45 mins |
| Bob Smith | 10 hrs 0 mins | 7 hrs 30 mins | 5 hrs 15 mins |
| Carol Williams | 14 hrs 0 mins | 9 hrs 30 mins | 8 hrs 15 mins |
| David Brown | 11 hrs 15 mins | 8 hrs 0 mins | 7 hrs 30 mins |
| Emily Davis | 13 hrs 30 mins | 10 hrs 0 mins | 9 hrs 15 mins |
| Frank Wilson | 9 hrs 45 mins | 7 hrs 15 mins | 6 hrs 30 mins |
| Grace Thompson | 12 hrs 0 mins | 8 hrs 45 mins | 7 hrs 0 mins |
| Henry Martinez | 15 hrs 15 mins | 11 hrs 0 mins | 10 hrs 30 mins |
Total Hours Spent by All Users (Decimal): 229hrs 30 mins
Clarity & Accuracy – With the new Clock Wise export, the time displayed in the exported file now matches exactly what you see in the app. This eliminates confusion caused by decimals and ensures that project hours are correctly represented, giving admins confidence in their reporting.
Flexibility – Different teams have different needs. Finance teams may prefer decimal values for precise calculations, while managers and stakeholders may find hours and minutes easier to interpret. Now, admins can choose the format that works best for their workflow without any extra effort.
Time-Saving – Previously, admins had to manually convert decimal hours back into hours and minutes, especially when calculating totals for multiple projects or team members. The Clock Wise option removes this extra step, allowing users to generate accurate reports instantly.
Better Reporting & Communication – Reports in hours and minutes are easy to read and share. Whether it’s for internal review, client reporting, or team meetings, the exported files are now intuitive and clear, reducing errors and saving time in explanations.

Keep in mind that time in hours and minutes is calculated based on 60 minutes per hour, whereas decimal values are calculated based on 100.
This difference can create slight discrepancies when manually converting decimals back to hours and minutes. To ensure accurate reporting, we recommend always referring to the time values displayed in the Orangescrum application in hr:mm format when exporting resource utilization data.
A project manager needs to send weekly time reports to stakeholders.
Finance teams can still use the decimal option for precise calculations, while managers can view time intuitively — everyone gets what they need.
With this update, Orangescrum makes resource utilization reports simpler, more accurate, and flexible. Whether you prefer hours & minutes or decimal hours, you now have the power to export your data your way.
Head over to Resource Utilization and try the new export options today—it’s reporting made easy.
