🚀 A Smarter UI is Here: Revamped Settings & Navigation in Orangescrum Agile

At Orangescrum, we understand that while managing projects, teams, and timelines, users shouldn’t have to wrestle with configuration settings or waste time navigating through cluttered interfaces. Every second saved is a win, and we’re here to help you win more.

That’s why we’re excited to roll out the first phase of our new User Interface (UI) transformation for the Orangescrum SaaS platform. With this release, we’re focusing on revamping the Left Navigation Menu and Application Settings/Configurations to give you a faster, smoother, and more intuitive experience.

And this is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be unveiling a series of UI/UX improvements that make Orangescrum even more powerful and enjoyable to use.

2. What’s Changing and Why?

Every software product needs to evolve, and UI/UX plays a crucial role in that journey. Whether you’re a startup, a mid-size agency, or a large enterprise, you need tools that get out of your way and let you focus on delivery. That’s exactly what this update aims to do.

Why Now?

This change is the first milestone in a year-long UI overhaul initiative we began while developing our Enterprise version. After months of development, research, and internal testing, we’re now bringing these enhancements to all Orangescrum Cloud users—both existing and new.

Driven by Real Feedback

This transformation didn’t happen in a vacuum. It’s the result of listening to:

3. Revamped Left Navigation Menu

Not a Radical Change, But a Smoother Experience

Let’s face it: project management can be complex, but your tools shouldn’t make it harder. Over time, as Orangescrum evolved to include more features and capabilities, so did our menu—sometimes at the cost of ease and clarity. We knew it was time to take a step back, listen to our users, and rethink how you navigate your workspace.

The result? A refined and intelligent Left Navigation Menu that puts what matters most within immediate reach.

What’s New?

Rather than completely overhauling the interface and risking disorientation, we’ve taken a more thoughtful approach:

Grouped Menus: Now you’ll see related functions like Projects, Timesheets, and Reports bundled together logically.
Collapsible Sections: Focus only on the features you use daily while tucking away the rest.
Minimalist Icons: Clean, clear icons help you locate features quickly, even on a busy day.
Settings Shortcut: One-click access to your configuration settings, always visible, always accessible.
Sticky Navigation: Your menu follows you, making navigation seamless even during longer scroll sessions.

We didn’t want you to feel lost in something “completely new.” Instead, we focused on enhancing the familiarity of the old layout while making it feel lighter, faster, and more intuitive.

So we rolled up our sleeves and rebuilt the entire Settings & Configuration Panel from the ground up.

Company Settings: Define company-level project statuses, sprint settings, templates, and role-based access.
Bug Settings: Easily configure severity levels, categories, root causes, and resolution types.
Profile Settings: Manage your preferences, notifications, quick links, bookmarks, and more.
Integrations: Connect with GitHub, Slack, OneDrive, Google Calendar, SSO, and Zapier—without hunting around.
Subscription Management: Handle your billing, user count, and license plan directly from the new panel.

6. Before vs. After Comparison

This section takes you on a visual walkthrough, where we first show you the existing (old) UI for each settings section—followed by a list of enhancements introduced in the new layout.

Top Navigation Drop-down – From Scattered to Centralized

Navigating settings shouldn’t feel like hunting for clues. In the older version of Orangescrum, the top navigation bar included a dropdown with separate links for:

Bug Settings

While functional, this scattered layout often led to confusion—users had to guess where to go and click around to get things done.

What’s Changed in the New UI?

We’ve centralized everything under a unified “Settings” sub-menu that’s easier to find, scan, and use. Whether you’re managing bugs, company roles, or personal preferences, it all starts from one consistent location.

What’s better now:

One-click access to all configuration panels
Cleaner, decluttered dropdown
Role-based access still intact (users see only what they’re permitted to)
Icon and label enhancements for clarity

The Profile Dropdown also received a major design upgrade. Previously, it provided access to a few basic options, but its layout lacked visual balance and scalability.

7. When Will This Be Available?

We’re excited to share that the new UI is already live and being gradually rolled out to all Orangescrum Cloud users.

This release is just Phase 1.
